Kevin's 34th!

Kevin had a birthday today! It was low key. Full of blessings though, if you asked me! It began with a yummy breakfast of gluten free pancakes, perfectly crisped bacon and fried eggs. It continued with a cup of coffee on the sofa. The coffee was followed up by an eager setup of birthday gift #1 (the black-brown one) and a special delivery (made by his truely) of birthday gift #2 (the black one), which was filled up with a perfectly brewed cup of Kicking Horse mocha. We all sat down to enjoy gift #1 with the rental of this movie and casually made our way upstairs again to enjoy our first unofficial BBQ'd hamburgers of the year (gluten free, as per usual) and birthday cake. The day ended with a huge answer to prayer: work! Literally, a previous boss of Kevin's knocked on our door while we were polishing off our cake plates and offered him a sub-contracting job. Praise the Lord! Here he is, the birthday boy himself:

Who knew Tinkerbell could bowl !?!

Atalie turned 5 today! She's been asking for a Princess party ever since her last birthday (the Pony party), which soon turned into a Fairy party, which also had to incorporate bowling... it went something like this: Glow bowling!! Tinkerbell steps up to the line... (insert imagination, as Tink wears a green dress) Gives a mighty push... Wait for it... Wait for it........ (added intensity) Atalie had the highest score! Our little athlete strikes again (oops - no pun intended there, honest)! Tinkerbell was everywhere, even in the cake I made for her! :) Atalie had two friends from Canal Flats at her party, plus her brother of course:) Atalie got all her favourite things... a Tinkerbell doll (from the cake) new ponies, Tinkerbell wings & wand, cute clothes, a video camera (from "Aiden") and a soccer ball with shin guards (from us). She was thrilled! AND a new kitchen from both Grandparents!! She's been asking for this one for over a year now. Atalie and Aiden test out the tea set, complete with wooden tea bags and biscuits! So cute. We asked her what she thought of her Birthday and she said, without hesitation, "AWESOME!!!!!!" Ha! There you have it. :)

Finishing touches.

We've been doing some finishing touches on the house the last couple weeks! Kevin has been off work in the slow season here so he's been making good use of his time! Have a little peak: He has painted 17 of 20 doors, each of which take 3.5 hours... not to mention caulking and painting all the door jambs. He made the end cabinet (wine rack). He insulated and trimmed the attic access.

Kiddos

Just some recent photos of the kids. Isla is crawling like a mad man (ahem - woman) and grabs anything her little hands can reach... which makes for a bit of trouble with the older two when they leave their toys anywhere in sight;) Ha ha! It's quite funny to watch them interact actually.

Pasta Pasta Pasta

The cutest tomato faces I ever did see:) Atalie, 11 months (was noteably the cleanest). Aiden, 11 months (was definately the messiest). Isla, 9 months (somewhere inbetween the cleanest and messiest).

Fresh Baked Buns!

Today was a catch-up day for baking that has been nagging me for some time already. Kevin was out of GF bread and the rest of us needed some buns for easy lunch and dinner ideas (go great with soup don't they?). The first picture is of Kevin's GF bread, just to give you an idea of what REAL gluten free bread should look like (unlike the freezer-burned cardboard you'll find in the odd grocery store) - and yes it tastes as good as it looks!!! The other pics are of the remainder of us enjoying the fruits of our (my) labour ;) Yuuummmm!!!! I always say, "There is nothing better than fresh bread with butter and honey" (buns and jam in this case). Isla stuck to her rice krispies ;)
