A new life begins

Delivery Day (a quick rundown of the days events) Looking HUGE...trust me, I know! Feeling huge too! 8:00am Arrived at hospital 9:15am Doctor breaks the water and surprisingly tells we can leave again (until contrations begin, that is) 10:00am Brunch @ Denny's - well, we had nothing better to do... still waiting for contractions to start 12:30pm Regular contractions begin 1:30pm Arrive back at the hospital - to stay this time. 7:44pm Atalie Elin Israelson is born. She has brown hair (kinda curly but mostly straight), a cute button nose and chubby cheeks! Absolutely adorable of course... A proud new Daddy gets to spend the first few moments with his daughter! ...he's totally smitten by the way:) As you can see, she weighed in at 8 lbs 11oz. We were expecting a 7 or 8 pounder at the most - even the doctor was surprised! She was long too 22" or 55cm. Mom finally gets a chance to get to know little Atalie. At one point she even forgot the point of this whole ordeal - when the doctor asked if she'd like to see her baby being born she wearingly said, "Oh ya, I forgot about the baby"! Day two: Dad comes back to the hospital after having had a full night's sleep at home, while Mom got a whopping 1-2 hours! Day three: Going home... finally! Thought this day would never come!! Grandma Dyck arrives day three to visit Atalie for the first time! She also is totally smitten:)

Some local shots

Some local shots of Kelowna... The pooch isn't ours unfortunately, but he's pretty frickin wicked! Who could resist driving down this one just once?

Kev in action

I think the inspiration for this outfit was the new boots - but I'm not sure. A proud day in our house as kev models his new Carhart's. Ever seen Holmes on Homes??Ya. I don't know alot of people who take pride in looking like they just stepped out of a poolhall and into their Camero ... he's one of a kind. Kevin and Tyler (Kendra's brother) on a perfect day at the hill ... .. .... ?

The waiting game begins

At 6 months anticipation is still in the air; time flies by as Christmas approaches and we're ending the second trimester. At 9 months it seems as though baby "pea" has suddenly sprung into baby "hippo", and just could not get any bigger... infact, today is D-Day - 40 weeks to the day. We wonder if she'll ever make an appearance. ?

A new life has begun

It was late July '05 when we were surprised (well, not completely surprised!) to discovered that we were to expect a new addition to our small family in about eight months:) So a few months later we ventured out to have an ultrasound done and discover that on March 19th, 2006 we would be expecting a little girl!! We were thrilled of course, to see a healthy little life bobbing about, waving her hands and doing summersaults:) ...hmmm, only 5 more months left... the countdown continues!

It all began one hot sunny day in May...

It all began one hot sunny day in May (the 24th of 2003, to be exact). We were married at the First Baptist Church in Lethbridge, AB. on a sunny Southern Alberta day. Infact, I believe it was a whopping 34 degrees!! We had a blast with all of our friends and family as they shared in our "big day", which of course was just one of many to come. We lived in Lethbridge for the first half year of our married lives, Coaldale for the other half, and then it was off to Kelowna, BC., where we've been for almost two years now. And that is where we begin this webpage... Picture: Big White Ski Resort, January 8, 2006 Due to our lack of technology until a few months ago, we are currently unable to post a pic from our wedding day to fit the above caption;) so you'll have to use your imaginations...instead, we've skipped ahead to a pic of us in the winter of '06.
