Uncle Tyler (Kendra's brother) holds his new neice.
A proud Grandma
...and a proud Grandpa!
This is for our friends and family ~ to help keep connected with the dance of our lives as we hop from one chapter to the next. We hope you feel inclined to leave us a comment and share yourselves with us as well! (email: israelson@shaw.ca)
We were fortunate to be able to fly to Alberta for Easter, where we saw both Kendra's family and Jeff & Kristy.
Jeff (Kev's brother) and Kristy Israelson have two adorable kids!
This is Tyler, he just turned 1.
Kristy's holding Atalie - a pro :)
Kevin takes a moment to read to Brooke, who is 2.
Jeff finds something amusing - likely Kev's photography skills.
Lisa (Kev's sister) and Sam Bretherick stopped to see us in Kelowna on their way to visiting Kev's parents in Seattle for Easter. They have three equally ;) adorable kids...
Alisha is the youngest, about 4 months.
Kev and Lisa hang out at the park while the kids play.
The whole gang:)
Jerah and Andrew discover Ogopogo during a walk beside Okanagan lake!
I dunno... every kid in town seems to love this thing, but seriously, it doesn't look very comfortable. Does it?
The only people missing from these pictures are Kev's parents, who we would have loved to see!
Hope you had a good Easter in Seattle!
Week two seems a little more relaxing than the first... Atalie has amazingly figured out that night time is best spent sleeping and only wakes up to eat a couple of times! However, she still seems to tire me out...
See this sweet peaceful face?
I am convinced that babies are not the only gifts from God - soothers are a miracle in themselves (!)
This year Kevin got more than just ice cream cake for his birthday.
He got a Canucks shirt from Kendra......
.....and a birthday nap with his daughter.
Nana and Papa were here to meet Atalie ( their 6th Grandchild) and celebrate Kev's Birthday.
Nana is alway's happy when she get's to hold one of her granbabies.
A suprised Papa is just as proud.
Delivery Day (a quick rundown of the days events)
Looking HUGE...trust me, I know! Feeling huge too!
8:00am Arrived at hospital
9:15am Doctor breaks the water and surprisingly tells we can leave again (until contrations begin, that is)
10:00am Brunch @ Denny's - well, we had nothing better to do... still waiting for contractions to start
12:30pm Regular contractions begin
1:30pm Arrive back at the hospital - to stay this time.
7:44pm Atalie Elin Israelson is born.
She has brown hair (kinda curly but mostly straight), a cute button nose and chubby cheeks! Absolutely adorable of course...
A proud new Daddy gets to spend the first few moments with his daughter! ...he's totally smitten by the way:)
As you can see, she weighed in at 8 lbs 11oz.
We were expecting a 7 or 8 pounder at the most - even the doctor was surprised! She was long too 22" or 55cm.
Mom finally gets a chance to get to know little Atalie. At one point she even forgot the point of this whole ordeal - when the doctor asked if she'd like to see her baby being born she wearingly said, "Oh ya, I forgot about the baby"!
Day two:
Dad comes back to the hospital after having had a full night's sleep at home, while Mom got a whopping 1-2 hours!
Day three:
Going home... finally!
Thought this day would never come!!
Grandma Dyck arrives day three to visit Atalie for the first time! She also is totally smitten:)
