Our Summer Outing

We got out very little this summer. Well, if we did it usually was not further than an hour drive from the house... the furthest we got was a day trip to the Calgary Zoo with my parents and brother. Here it was (catching up on some summer fun, sorry so late!): Began with a picnic lunch at the park. The pic below is Atalie trying to see the "hipotapamus". I love these guys. They don't do anything really. Just look cool. If I ever get to Africa I am bound and determined to get a wicked picture of them. The lions are pretty cool too. Lazy. But cool. Kevin was tipping the chariot back and forth, the kids thought this too funny!! Back to BC we go. Goodbye Alberta! We had a beautiful drive home!!!

Fish Lake

Kevin and his brother, Jeff, did a hike in Top Of The World Provincial Park on Monday. A 6km hike taking 1.5 hours (to the lake). Here's some pictures of Fish Lake: Kev brought Koda and Jeff brought Jesse. What's a hike without your dogs aye? hehe. There was a cabin at the lake - and a ton of trails leading up and around the mountain from it... there was a main trail to the tippy top of the mountain but it was another 3 k's and the guys already had a late start. Next time;) BEAUTIFUL camping spot though!!!!!

The Verenike lineup, of course!

I borrowed this one from my Aunt Ruth - thank you!! Why else would you need 100 feet of rope, other than to prevent a mad dash for the best food on the planet? Verenike loving peacekeepers - an accurate portrayal of our Mennonite Heritage! :)

From the Mountains to the Prairies

We headed to Coaldale from August 21st to the 26th. It was great to get away and spend quality time with our family & friends. It was also good to celebrate the life of one of our best friends, Buckey Ruggles - inspite of how difficult it was to say goodbye. Here's a few pics of the 4 hour trip there: From the mountains... ...to the prairies. "I go see Gramma an' Grampa!!!!!" Aiden snuggles his teddy bear (and then steals his sisters doll which in turn creates havock). Even Koda got to come for the first time... which seemed to royally confuse her. Gotta get a pic of us too:) Everybody plays in Grandma & Grandpa's backyard. Atalie finally tried the trampoline on her own this time around - and loved it! Atalie and Aiden get to know their cousins a little more each trip:) Atalie gets pretty excited too, "I go see cousins???!!!!!", followed by a dropped jaw and wide grin. Playing with cousins, Brooke & Tyler. Wrestling with Uncle Kevin. Playing with the girls, Jerah and Alisha. New baby cousin, Sophia Rose Bretherick. Cousin Andrew:) Aiden's birthday is in 2 days!!! He got an early present from Grandma & Grandpa while visiting them. He loves it! It suites him so much:) A sweet, quirky little boy riding his "Mater" towtruck innocently around the house. Big sister has to have a try too! Aiden calmly lets her. Toddlin' around. Leah and our family. We were blessed with this rainbow on our trip to Coaldale. Amidst tears and laughter in memory of Buck, Kevin and I looked up, out the window, to see this. I couldn't help but think, "His Grace is sufficient for you" when seeing it.
