Backyard action.
The backyard has finally been made usable. A fence went up sometime in May and grass was seeded shortly after (along with the quackgrass and whatnot).
We also attempted to plant some trees. The Ponderosa Pine has been extremely successful and already grown about 6"; the two purple maples have also survived, even gained a few more leaves (which were scarce to begin with); our attempts at a Larch, Weeping Larch and other maple were extremely unsuccessful due to our "Diggingest Dog" Koda. We've near killed this pup (ok not really, but she has been a real pain in the butt!!!).
Aiden and Atalie explore the "out back" and still manage to dodge the sprinker... which wouldn't be the case if we hadn't told Atalie to "stay out of the water please" :)
Hangin out on the front deck.
What are little brothers for, if not this????

She loooooves her new sandbox that Daddy built last week!!

Expect PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well it's been a long long long loooooooooooooooooooong wait (I'd say about 5+ years) and today I finally got a great little digital SLR: The Pentax K200D.
Infact I'd say this camera far excedes my expectations and I can't WAIT to try it ...yes, I'm still reading the 3/4" thick manual. Call me crazy but it kills me cracking open a much anticipated purchase to discover there's so much you don't know that you feel slightly overwhelmed (it's like saving up money for a car and when you get the keys to drive it off the lot you find out it's all in pieces for you to self-assemble).
I realize videos are cheesy but if you are like me and a little "out of the loop" when it comes to digital technology, you must see it (try to watch it all if you start it, there's some cool stuff in it). I was pretty amazed to see what a camera is capable of these days!
I have to thank Kevin for his willingness to sell his DH bike (and mine) to purchase this - and of course God for answering my prayers alas:)
It's hard to explain how exciting and significant this is for me but you'll just have to take my word for it. Woohoo!!

Scanners are my new best (and worst) friends!!
So I managed to scan four old pictures successfully... some not so successfully (they didn't zoom in to fullsize, instead stayed small on a big white page).
The first four are ones I've taken.
First we have Dad, working hard (need I even mention that part) in the office we once had in the basement at home. I think it's now a clean (thanks to forced purging) storage room. The calendar on the left says January 1995!
Dad shingles the shed in the backyard.
Tyler with our neverending funloving dog Keo (RIP little pup!)
I don't know how old Tyler is here but you'll notice everyone is slightly dressed up. As well, our cousins, Jodi and Ryan to the left (sorry Jode), and myself safely out of camera's reach (behind with the black nylons - how very stylish!). It's likely Christmas anyway...
The picture of all pictures!
Kate Andrews Home Economics Cooking class!!! Woohoo:) :) :)
This photo is compliments of Amanda (Pickering) Rodziniak. thanks!

Catching up on some random pictures:)

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!
WOW it IS good to be back in the world of technology. I can't emphasize this enough!
Sorry to regular blog-checkers... our computer slowly but surely completely died on us. It seemed more cost efficient (and temper efficient) to just get a new one. So currently I'm staring at a 19" flat screen and my fingers have never glided over a keyboard so softly.. ...sigh... aaaah! Call me what you will but until you put up with a dying computer(s) for 5 years and suddenly experience a brand new one for the first time, you'll just never know;) But that's okay.
There's much happening in our lives however our camera is dead as well (big surprise right?) and we have yet to pay the nice electronics man in Cranbrook to transfer our info from the old computer to the new one... thus we have no pics. rrg. We'll get 'em yet!!
I've got to get up at an insane hour tomorrow morning to bake a zillion pies so this will be a somewhat "quick" update.
As for the "zillion pies" it's really not many to start out with. I'm venturing into the entrepreneurial world with my baking, taking it to the Invermere farmers market. It seems a haven for locals and Calgarians, all waiting to pay whatever it takes to empty their pockets (so I keep hearing anyway). I'll be mostly selling cinnamon buns and my Mom's famous Saskatoon (among other kinds) pies, but also muffins, cookies, saskatoon syrup & filling & jelly.
The first market is in two days (less now) on the 21st of June.
Kev has undertaken and completed another daunting task to further our house project. We now have an extremely large backyard with a very expensive fence around it and some patchy grass within!! Don't ask him about the grass, or the rocky soil (lack thereof), or the dips in our backyard due to puppy bordom, or the trees which either die or suffer a slow death, also due to puppyism ... it shall come to those who wait:)
Aiden is 9.5 months old now!!!!! He's speed-crawling and has been obviously avoiding the walking process for a couple of months now. Daily he stands up with great determination in his eyes but then decides to crouch down and crawl to his destination instead... he also immitates Atalie and I when we sing, "aaaah aaaah aaah", he goes as he tries very closely to find the same note.
Atalie is an immaginative and creative little girl. She talks much, mostly to herself or anyone who happens to overhere and respond... she runs around yelling, "aaah! giant! run!" (a direct quote from one of her movies) for a good excuse to run around yelling something. She articulates quite well what she does and doesn't want but somehow remains quite a patient little girl if ever there was one! She loves to colour, dance, watch movies, be tickled and blow bubbles.
Koda (did we tell anyone we found a name for the "puppy"?) is almost 6 months, at which point she will be spayed and get her shots. Her talents mostly lie in digging holes, burrying and never recovering any of her toys (without a trace!), checking every tree for squirrels on our walks and zealously fetching pinecones. She's also quite big already and doesn't realize that when she play-bites you while running past you, it feels like a 2x4 with portruding nails being swung like a bat. ...we're working on that one... Atalie also now seems to have no fear of Koda and loves to tell her what to do, even though Koda, being much larger and having no interest in a chattering little girl, pays no attention.
And that's us. I could come up with more stories and events but this will do for tonight. I'll try to scan some pics (ooo! our NEW printer is a scanner which is also very exciting for us here in smallville).
Thanks for checkin in:)
