31 weeks large

Had my second ultrasound today (31 weeks along). I was told that the placenta is exactly where it should be and everything looks great! :) We saw the cutest chubby cheeks and button nose, which practically took up the whole screen as baby is much larger than the first ultrasound. She said the baby currently weighs 4lbs 1oz, and gains (on average) 30g/day from now until birth. I figured out that if this baby is "average" he/she will weigh approximately 7lbs 8oz when born. However - we all know that Atalie was NOT that small and I am NOT looking like I'm about to have a small baby... so we'll see:) But on the other hand, I have currently gained half the weight I gained last pregnancy and well, it's nice to dream of a small baby! What the heck aye? Why not. Mommy's little helper got right in on the action while folding laundry today:) Our little noodle made the biggest mess yet at dinner, with her stirfry and noodles... need I say more... She can't seem to get enough of her books! She loves pictures of animals and likes to hear Mom and Dad make all the noises that go along with each animal... over, and over, and over, and over. But how can you resist when she cuddles right in???

Excavating begins!

Well today we finally got a hole dug in the ground! It's exciting and scary all at the same time. We now have a piece of land with a hole in it... hmm... kinda committed now huh? :)

cutie pie, strawberry pie

Okay, let's all be honest inspite of our biases (is that a word??). Is this not thee cutest little girl you've EVER seen?????? Yes! Atalie has gotten into a habbit of grabbing the phone and running around with it tucked into her neck and saying, "hi, hi, hi, hi...". I've had to take it away b/c of a growing concern of her accidentally dialing 911 or something, so now she grabs the remotes and does the same thing with them. If I try to take it away or ask her to "please give it to Mommy", she lets out a hilarious shriek and runs like mad! :) I just had to display my delictible creations:) Lately I've been running low on building-type projects (phonecalling, budgeting, etc.) and have become rather bored at home all day (it's been either rainy or too hot to walk very far, being as pregnant as I'm feeling)... so I thought I'd make use of the time! The first is one of two loaves of chocolate chip banana bread, which is NOT good to have around the house when home all day; the next is a loaf of whole wheat bread, thanks to my bread machine (it's like a grown-up easy-bake!); and the last is a delicious strawberry pie, which I hope tastes as delicious as it looks. DANG I'm good!! Okay, realizing my huge ego, I'll have to pause and give thanks to my Mother, who seems to have passed on the genes for yummy baked goods! Thanks Ma!

Little monkey

Atalie has taken a liking to her little blue sunglasses, which are still a little too big;) She doesn't like to wear them longer than 10 seconds though b/c they're too much fun to play with - so I keep them by her change table as a nice distraction:) She's also taken a liking to her new-found skill of walking. Infact, she took a big crash today... she was bee-lining it across the kitchen floor (lino) and fell face first, shmucking her head (face down) on the hard floor. At first she lay there, no movement, for about 10 seconds with her legs and arms straight out, then let out a little cry, and once we picked her up she had about a 15 second breath in... a loooong calm before the storm to follow... she's okay to say the least:) It's one of many to come anyway. Poor little chicken! Anyway, here's some pics of her before the big spill.

Basement Suite

As mentioned in the below post, we recently moved to a new place in town. It's only a 1bedroom basement suite and has no bathtub but rather a teeny tiny shower in a teeny tiny bathroom... makes things interesting with one little one, never mind the thought of two! Here's a few pics for those who are curious.

Recent Happenings.

Well it's certainly been awhile since blogger has cooperated with my computer... alas I have some pictures to show! As for recent news...hmmm... we have moved to a basement suite on the edge of town! This is great for Kevin b/c he now has half the distance to drive to work - which leads me to the next bit of news... both our vehicles are out of commission and so he carpools with one of his buddies. As for the vehicles, we have decided to sell the truck and only fix the trooper. However, we are in a bit of a pickle b/c we have decided to move again, as we discovered a 3bedroom duplex for reasonable rent in town here and will need a truck to move - now, try to follow me here - our friends are moving into the other side of the duplex, however he just sliced his hand open at work a couple days ago and will not be able to help with the move at all... so... Kevin is physically able to move but will have to coordinate our move with theirs to help them out and also (hopefully:)) have the use of their truck for our stuff as well. This will all be happening at the end of the month(ish). WAY too much moving for my likes!! But I'd rather not think about that. As for me, I'm feeling quite good and am now 29wks along, with only 11 to go. Woohoo!! I have another ultrasound in a couple weeks to ensure everything is good. Apparently the placenta was lying ever so slightly lower than it should have been in the first ultrasound, so my doctor just wants to double check everything. I'm looking forward to it though b/c it's always fun to see a little baby squirming around in there:) As for Atalie, she has now decided that she will walk (or run) everywhere! There is no more crawling in this house. What a funny girl. I guess she found an abundance of confidence somewhere:) She's pretty cute - and quite hilarious, as she squeels with delight at this new-found pleasure of being on her own two feet! As for our house building plans, Kevin has staked out the house on the lot and we now have to wait for the excavator to come dig us a hole in a week and a half... then things can continue:) However we received word from Nelson (house package co.), on the day of our order, that they are no longer accepting orders. Ya. Nada. Zip, zilch, nothing. They are so backed up with house orders that they just plain aren't taking any right now! So we're at square one (sort of) with pricing out our entire house piece-by-piece at the hardware store. Let me tell you, this pricing thing NEVER ENDS!!!!!!! Anyway that's all I can muster up for recent happenings, so take a look at some recent photos: Here are a few pictures of us on our 4th Anniversary. We actually spent the day in Cranbrook but headed to Moyie Lake for a bit too. We were fortunate enough to have great babysitters in Cranbrook who didn't mind watching Attie while we had a little celebration date in the evening too! Yea!! Movies and coffee are soooo under-rated! Here's a few (late) pictures of our May-long camping trip in the Kootenays:
